International Study Centre

International study centres (ISC) provide the educational support necessary for foreign students to make a successful transition into life in a mainstream British boarding school. Typically aged 15 or above, these students receive intensive English language tuition as well as lessons in other academic subjects. In some cases, students with a stronger academic profile may take GCSEs in core subjects to prepare them for GCE A Levels or even the IB Diploma Programme.

Many international study centres are stand-alone, however, a growing body of mainstream boarding schools are opening their own international students centres to prepare pupils with weak English skills for reenrolment into the main school. International study centres are staffed by experienced EFL teachers who have received specialist training in linguistic and cultural awareness so are able to tailor their teaching to the specific needs of international students.
